I've made some big changes, recently. After completing my degree at Georgia Tech, I began applying for aerospace engineering design positions with various companies. I was hired by Boeing to work as a structural engineer on the 787 wing box design, and moved to Everett, WA by the factory.
I drove up along Interstate 5, which runs all the way from LA to Everett, and beyond. Along the way, I watched the temperature drop on my car's thermometer as the landscape was changing. North of San Francisco, it began to remind me of the Midwest. Until I hit the mountains again leaving California. It was raining, but temperatures were in the upper 30s. But as soon as I crossed into Oregon, it changed to snow for a little way until the road reached a lower altitude, as seen in the pictures below.
Now I'm living in an apartment that looks over a golf course, and is very close to where I work. I can see the factory from my window.
So far, I've mostly done training stuff, learning the procedures and software. But I will soon be starting to do actual work, to which I am looking forward.
