• Monday, April 26, 2004
  I'm almost done with school now. I just have two final exams to take tomorrow, neither of which do I expect to be too difficult.

  This last equinox a bunch of people all over the world created VR panoramas of their surroundings. You can see them here: World Wide Panoramas. There are some very nice ones there. Here's a different one I found, of Chicago: NO LONGER EXISTS.

  I rarely give family news, since I'm not with the family now. But here are a couple brief items. Mary made a 36 on the ACT. Welcome to the club. And I ate one of my mom's cookies earlier this afternoon. It was delicious. You should get her to send you some.

• Monday, April 19, 2004
  It seems that spring is finally here. The weather has gotten to the warmest it's been yet, and it looks like it may actually stay warm this time. And all the flowers are blooming, the bushes are getting leaves, and the robins and hedgehogs have been out and about.

  Of course, that also means that I'm just about done with school. This Wednesday is my last day of class, before which I need to finish up one more paper. Then the next Tuesday (the 27^th) I have two final exams, and on Thursday I'll go back home. I've enjoyed my first year here, but it will be nice to go back home and take a break from school and dorm-life.

  Now when I'm not working on a paper or studying, I'm working on my space flight game. I recently got a some hard-core betatesters, and they're sending me lots of bug reports and suggestions for improvements. Which is a good thing, since it would take me a very long time to find all the bugs and figure out how to improve it on my own.

  Well, I finally made the pilgrimage to my old haunts this afternoon. It brought back a lot of memories. Some things had changed, but mostly it looked the same. I saw "suicide" hill that we sledded down in the winter, the little tree where we collected caterpillars that spun their webs there, the monstrous bushes we used to climb through and on, the apartment we lived in, the trees we used to climb, the firestation I once sneaked into with a friend, and many other things. The sandlots were still there, but the concrete structures had been removed, replaced with those little ducks on springs that kids sit on and attempt to rock. I remembered it fairly accurately, except that it seems a good deal smaller now. As always, there were numerous small children running and biking about. So that was fun.

• Wednesday, April 7, 2004
  A lot has been happening here recently. I had a test on Monday, a test on Tuesday, and I'll have another one tomorrow. I also had a birthday, but nothing reallly happened for that. I also started writing the two long papers which are due in two weeks. I finally solved a coding problem in a computer program that had been stumping me for months. I went swimming a couple of times. And of course, lots of studying and homework.
